SJCS 170th Anniversary
On Saturday, April 20, 2024, students, teachers and alumni joined the Sisters of St. Joseph in celebrating the 170th anniversary of the school. Following a beautiful service at St. Basil’s Church, over 400 people gathered for a very nostalgic reception in the school gym. Together, alumni walked the halls of Wellesley with old friends and admired historic displays of photos and memorabilia managed by the school archives team.
A week later, on Friday, April 26, 2024, the Alumni Committee hosted the 170th Alumni Dinner and Dance. The 125 guests, with graduation years spanning from 1954 to 2022, celebrated this milestone and our community with food, prizes, and a never ending dance floor.
A Strong Educational Foundation of Female Leaders
St. Joseph’s College school was established in 1854 by the Sisters of St. Joseph who are also credited with founding and growing some of Toronto’s largest hospitals, secondary school and other social service programs. For almost 200 years, SJCS has maintained a culture of academic excellence, personal exploration, and a commitment to the service of others. The school community has been an invaluable place of belonging for girls from across the city who are all able to be their best selves and connect with a study body as diverse as Toronto.
